Is True Sine Wave the Same as Pure Sine Wave?

Cornwall Solar Company

I was in the exact same situation as you.

Researching the newest power inverters to add to my off-grid electricity setup.

You probably understand the benefits of pure sine wave already.

But then you come across something called True Sine Wave.

What the heck is true sine wave?

Is true sine wave the same as pure sine wave? Or something completely different?

Is True Sine Wave the Same as Pure Sine Wave?

Yes, true sine wave and pure sine wave are the same thing.

You can relax, there’s no difference between the two.

Simply put true sine wave is just a marketing term, you still get a smooth flow of current and voltage with low harmonic distortion.

That means a true sine wave inverter can run the same sensitive electronics as a pure sine wave.

What can you run with true sine wave?

The output from a true sine wave inverter replicates the type of electricity you get from the mains at home.

That means you get a clean 120V AC power output that can run all you’re home appliances.

You can happily charge phones, tablets, laptops, and other portable gadgets. Adding to this you can power sensitive electronics like medical equipment and LED TVs along with AC motors, compressors, refrigerators, microwaves, and much more.

As true sine wave and pure sine wave are the same things, you can read through my other guides for more information:
